About the Founder
Meet Ritah Lillian
Nabukalu.
Born in Uganda. Rooted in Buganda tradition. Based in Aotearoa. Ritah founded SANYU Adventures to build a bridge between two homes — and to invite the world into a version of Africa she grew up loving: warm, wise, dignified and joyful.
After years in hospitality and cultural exchange between New Zealand and East Africa, she saw a gap. Travellers wanted more than a wildlife checklist — they wanted belonging. Communities wanted more than tips — they wanted partnership. SANYU is her answer.
