Ngamba Island sits on 100 acres of protected tropical forest in the calm waters of Lake Victoria, Africa's largest lake. It is home to chimpanzees rescued from poaching, illegal trade and habitat loss — animals who lost their families before they were old enough to survive alone.
This is far more than wildlife viewing. Your visit directly supports the caregivers, veterinary teams and community education programmes that keep the sanctuary running, and it offers a rare, honest window into Uganda's leadership in primate protection.
